Fundraiser for Donna Pintac

In December my brother Steve, and sister in law, Donna Pintac, tested positive for COVID-19. This then progressed into Donna developing pneumonia which landed her inpatient at AVH  for a week over Christmas. She was discharged on oxygen and spent the next two weeks in and out of the ER for various respiratory and medication related issues. The first week of January Donna ended up admitted in the ICU at Forbes, diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and placed on a bipap to help stabilize her oxygen saturation that wasn’t being helped by normal nasal cannula. After responding well to treatment, Donna had to be placed on a ventilator on January 9th. By the 12th her lungs were no longer able to function properly and she was sent to AGH to be placed on ECMO in addition to the Ventilator.

Since then the progress had been back and forth and slow but lately has been in the right direction. Currently both the Ventilator and ECMO are functioning at 50%; allowing her body to do the other half of the work. The nursing staff has been lowering her sedation periodically to have her respond to verbal commands, which she does every time. She is off IV antibiotics and her labs are trending in the right direction.




Since December neither Donna or my brother have been able to work; and at this time no one knows when either of them will be able to. Bills are piling up and they need our help. This page was created to help raise money to help alleviate some financial strain and burden off of Donna and Steve.
