Urgent chemo treatment for Divine Sedem Fianu-Amedume
Dear friends, it is with a heavy heart that I created this gofund me page. My cousin, Divine, was recently diagnosed with cancer (epithelioid sarcoma of the pelvis). Divine is a brilliant 23 year old young man who graduated in 2019 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Ghana.
He had just completed his National Service at a helicopter transport company in Takoradi (Western Region of Ghana) when he started feeling unwell. Following a series of tests at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, he was diagnosed in November 2020 with cancer. As a result of the cancer, Divine is in constant severe pain. He is unable to eat or sleep much. His career plans to train as an Aviation Technician have also been put on hold as he enters into a fight for his life.
The recommended treatment for the cancer is chemotherapy (6 cycles) at the Sweden Ghana Medical Center in Accra, Ghana and funds are needed urgently to start the treatment. The projected cost for the treatment is a little over 68,000 GHS (about $12,000 USD) Unfortunately, Divine has no medical insurance to cover the cost of treatment and sadly, his family just doesn't have the means to pay for the treatment.
Divine is an outstanding young man who comes from a loving family that has supported him throughout his education, where he won numerous awards including Best Pre-Technical Student in Junior High School and Best core Mathematics student in high school (Presbyterian Boys Secondary School PRESEC, Accra, Ghana). Prior to receiving this devastating diagnosis, he was on track for a bright future and we would like to believe that with your help and by God’s grace, we can get him back in good health and on track.
Would you please consider helping us raise the needed funds? No amount is too big or too small. The funds raised here will be used exclusively for the chemotherapy treatment. All contributions of any amount are appreciated and will go directly to the family for this purpose. Your prayers and well wishes are also very welcome.
