Fundraiser for Deb Brewer and Family

Hi, my name is Caroline Bureau, and I’m raising money for my mom, Deb Brewer. My mom was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called spindle-cell sarcoma in her lower left leg just after Christmas in 2020. Since then, she has undergone six weeks of radiation, tumor and surrounding tissue removal, and three subsequent surgeries to rebuild her leg. For the leg reconstruction, doctors took donor material from her back and other areas of her leg, in addition to a cadaver Achilles tendon. After a six-week stay in the hospital for reconstruction, my mom was prematurely discharged due to COVID. As a result, she required another six weeks of 24-hour visiting nurse care due to her extensive medical needs. This care was not covered by insurance and has put a significant financial strain on our family. With both myself and my brother heading to college this fall, my mom is in need of aid.
