Jim is a Special Agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, assigned to the Huntsville Resident Office.  Jim is also a former U.S. Marine and Morgan County Sheriff's Deputy.  As many of you are aware, our friend has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer.  Jim has a very good team of doctors taking care of him at the University of Alabama - Birmingham (UAB) Medical Center.  He has had surgery relative to this diagnosis and will soon begin treatment.  The treatment will consist of radiation for five days a week for six weeks, as well as chemotherapy.   Jim and his wife, Susan, are required to stay in Birmingham for the duration of this initial six week treatment plan. There are several hotels that are near the hospital and some of them offer special rates and amenities for patients and their families.  However, even with discounted rates for patients, this cost is going to add up quickly.  There will be other travel costs as well, including  parking, food, gas, etc.  We know  that Jim and Susan are so thankful for all of the help from friends and family so far, but we are hoping to raise enough money to cover the costs associated with this six week treatment plan.  Let’s get together and give Jim and Susan one less thing to worry about so that they can concentrate on peace, comfort and healing.
