Crystal was diagnosed in July 2019 with 1b2 cervical cancer.
Crystal said it best herself in a FB post in the fall of 2019. "I don't make this post for attention or pity. Has it been hard, yes. Do I wish it was different, of course. I make this post for awareness, and not just cancer awareness. I am typically a strong, independent person who doesn't ask for help. It's okay to have moments of weakness. It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to accept help. For someone like me that has been the hardest part, is letting people be there for me. At times it is very overwhelming the amount of love and support that has been shown and that is everything to me right now.
Pray for my family. If you're someone who doesn't pray just send happy thoughts. We are going to be okay."
I have been blessed to know Crystal on a professional level for almost 7 years. She has worked at Buffalo Wild Wings in Zanesville, Ohio since February 2014 and has worked very hard to move up in the company. She started as a cook, quickly moved into a leadership role of a Wing Certified Trainer, then manager and currently is the Assistant General Manager. She has been a great leader and truly embodied the B-Dubs values of sportsmanship, fun, spontaneity, community and hustle. She is one of the hardest working individuals that I have been blessed to work with in almost 20 years. Crystal continued to work through her treatments of chemo and radiation, but then this ugly thing called COVID-19 popped up and she could not longer work with the risk. All she has ever wanted in life is to support her two children, Kilynn and Amara, and she has not been able to do that for awhile.
Crystal's doctors had been very optimistic about her cancer diagnosis, but unfortunately the punches keep coming and she has been put in hospice care. As she described herself above as a strong, independent person who doesn't ask for help, but when her world was flipped upside down she learned that asking for help was one of the hardest battles she had to overcome. This is why we are starting this GoFundme. We want to raise as much money as we can to help alleviate the financial stress that is building on her family. All the money raised will go to Crystal and her family to help pay for the expenses that they are facing with the next stage of this ugly thing called cancer.
Thank you to anyone who can donate to help Crystal and her family and as she said in her FB post "Pray for my family. If you're someone who doesn't pray just send happy thoughts"... and I would like to add... or send donations.
