Zack was born with a condition called Clubfoot which means he was in casts until he was 3 months old and then he had to wear boots and braces 24hrs for the next 3 months and then 12hrs a day until he was 3 years old.
Zack had regular check ups after this and got the all clear and was told he should be able to continue his life with no issues but there was no guarantee that he wouldn't relapse which (touch wood) he never has/will.
Zack works hard in many sports he does from football, boxing and a bit of golf but has never really enjoyed long distance running as much.
He has decided that he wants to try and do a fundraising run over the month of October to try and raise funds for two things. he would like donate half of the funds he raises to a clubfoot charity which he has chosen https://www.miraclefeet.org/miraclefeet-uk which assists in the treatment of children born with clubfoot in low- and middle-income countries.
He would also like to donate the other half to his football team to try and help raise funds to go on tour to Filey in 2026.
Zack will attempt to Run 25 miles in the month of October 2025 which will be a massive achievement for him.
Fun fact
Steven Gerrard was born with clubfoot, a condition where a child's foot is twisted inwards and downwards at birth. He underwent early treatment, including casting and other medical interventions, to correct the condition. Thanks to this early treatment, Gerrard was able to walk normally and went on to have an extremely successful career as a professional footballer, captaining Liverpool and the England national team.
