Obviously we would love to go to Citizencon but due to the shear distance from Australia to the CIG Studios they are just so far away. Because of this we require some financial assistance to do so and so we are asking for you help. For example the Flight from Australia to England alone is around 27 hrs long, and at the moment just to get one of us from here to there for example is around $1600 USD for an Economy Ticket. Not to mention accommodation and food during our trip.
If we can get enough support we would also like to get some gear for a portable streaming setup. This would obviously allow us to bring you guys with us on this journey and give you our experience of citizencon both on the floor and in interviews with developers and other content creators. Our plan for this at the moment is to rent a laptop and use our existing microphones and cameras but we need some things like batteries, mobile internet and accessories to make into a portable streaming rig.

We are in the initial steps of planning for Citizencon 2024, for both of us this is an expensive endeavour. However, we do not just want to attend Citizencon we would also like to provide detailed coverage of the Convention, by bringing a portable studio suitable for live streaming and post-show podcasts and interviews (yes, we dream big). Supporting the Inforunners, as we travel the road to Citizencon will assist us in the following ways:
- Help us pay the airfare (approximately $1600USD per ticket return flight to Manchester).
- Help us supplement our equipment (purchase or hire) the equipment enabling us to create a portable studio. Examples of the equipment acquisitions which will help are a laptop, mics and audio mixers, portable lighting, and camera stabilization equipment for filming on the move.
Minimum Target its $3250
Stretch Goals
$3250 is the minimum to get one of us to Citizencon and Execute will do Lego Build Stream (Vote of Delorean or Ornithopter)
$6500 this gets us both there.
Plus Personal Stream with Top 20 Donors
$7800 will allow us to get the basic gear we need to make a streaming rig.
The Number One donator will also be invited to stay with us at the share accommodation the week of Citizencon.
Anything over this will go into a better stream setup and give us a longer stay on the trip.

We have to pay Tax on the money raised so there is an additional 30%, which is what we are charged.
