On the night of October 26, 2026, his shrimp vessel, the "Miss Kristin," caught fire at the Sea Gardens dock in McIntosh County and was a total loss. Luckily, no one was injured during the blaze.

For a commercial fisherman, losing your vessel is more than just losing a boat. It's losing a piece of yourself and your livelihood. Captain Jamey is the youngest shrimper in the state of Georgia. Despite his age, he was already one of the top fishermen here in the state of Georgia. Hopefully, this fund will bring ease to his mind and the stress that follows with it.

We are asking the community to band together and help raise funds to finish paying the vessel off and the equipment that was lost during the fire. Any excess funds will go to him to get a down payment on another shrimp vessel in the future to get Captain Jamey back on the water.
