This fund has been created to help defray the cost of medical expenses for our colleague Brian Derr. This month Brian suffered a very serious medical condition that will require an elongated hospital stay as well as significant rehabilitation. 

Brian has been with the NYPD for over 12 years, and has been a valuable member of the Legal Bureau's Criminal Section and Civil Enforcement Unit. He is a reliable and diligent colleague and he has made many important contributions to the Department during his career. Over the years, Brian has always stepped up to the plate when given a task and he has unwaveringly supported his teammates.

We all look forward to seeing Brian back at work when he's ready, but lets help him and his family get him there as best we can.

Contributions from the fund will go to expenses related to Brian's treatment so that Brian can focus 100% of his energy on getting well.
