Fundraiser for Bob and Carol Lindsey

On Christmas Day 2021, my brother Bob Lindsey was hospitalized due to a just discovered brain tumor. The tumor was mostly removed, but the doctors returned with the worst possible diagnosis, glioblastoma, an invariably fatal brain cancer.

Bob was a plywood mill worker and his wife Carol is a grocery store checker in a rural part of Oregon. He has not been able to work since his diagnosis and Carol has missed a lot of work taking care of him. He is getting weaker and has been having seizures. A hospice nurse sees him three times a week and the doctors discontinued his chemo as the tumor has gone too far. Bob now needs a full-time caregiver.

I would like to raise enough money to pay for his caregiver, pay medical bills, to cover the myriad of other expenses that have come up as his condition deteriorates and the bills that have run up due to his wife Carol missing work to care for Bob, and Bob’s inability to work. I also hope to cover the costs that will arise when Bob ultimately succumbs to this horrible disease.

Bob has always been the class clown, long after he no longer had classes. He often said that he just wanted to make people laugh. He has had his ups and downs in life, but when he talked about events that should be sad, he would have us laughing so hard it was hard to breathe. He is a dedicated Seahawks fan, a golfer, an open mic comedian, a father, husband, son, uncle, brother and a great friend to many.

A couple of years ago, Bob was asked to be the “flower dude” at a friend’s wedding. Bob’s family wants people to see Bob's hilarious, fun, gregarious personality and share some of the joy Bob has brought to the lives of those who have known him. Whether you donate or not, please watch video below.
