Fundraiser for Barb McGarity

hi everyone!

In August 2023 my mom (barb mcgarity) became sick, which resulted in her gall bladder being removed in October leading to hospitalization and recovery. After the surgery was completed she did not feel herself still, which lead to them figuring out she had pancreatitis which lead to another hospitalization. During the time she had pancreatitis multiple scans were done which showed pre cancer cells in her pancreas bile ducts, this requiring the wipple procedure. On May 6th mom received this surgery taking half of her pancreas and reconnecting the small intestine and bowels. this surgery 6 hours long, she had to remain in hospital for 10 days and is now home with 24hr care from family and friends for recovery which is expected to be completed by august 2024 if all goes well.

Mom has not been able to work since October 2023. For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing my mom know that she is the most selfless person you will meet: she is always willing to help others in need and would give the shirt off her back. although she is this way with others she would never ask for help when she is in need. i decided to make this page as i know a few people have asked about a benefit or go fund me page and this is a way for others to help her during her time of need.
