Fundraiser For Aubree’s Fearless Fight

We are raising money in support of our dear and beautiful friends Aubree, Ashley, and Cris Southers. Cris and Ashley are the kind of people that you don’t get to meet often in life. They are caring, compassionate, loyal, and would give the shirt off their backs to a stranger in need without hesitation or second thought. Their beautiful daughter Aubree, a girl with a smile that could light up an entire room and laugh that could melt the most frozen of hearts, was transferred via helicopter on May 31st from an emergency room in Victoria, Tx to the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. There she was diagnosed with Intussusception. Intussusception is a rare, serious disorder in which one part of the intestine slides into an adjacent part of the intestine. This "telescoping" often blocks food or fluid from passing through. Intussusception also cuts off the blood supply to the part of the intestine that's affected, which can lead to a tear in the bowel (perforation), infection and death of bowel tissue. After testing, examination, and scans, surgeons at the Children’s Hospital declared that Aubree needed to be operated on to repair her intestines. Surgeons went in and removed a large congenital defect mass, 3-4" of her small intestine, and her appendix. After surgery Aubree was taken to the ICU where further and very serious complications took place. On June 3, Aubree has to endure a second emergency surgery. Part of her intestine became blocked and started to die. This caused a breakage hole which then started to leak. Surgeons also had to remove more of Aubree’s intestine. A colostomy bag was connected which Aubree will have to carry for 6-8 weeks. In this time, her body will fully recover enough for a third round of surgery. From there, surgeons will go in and reconnect the two parts of the intestines. Aubree and her loving parents are currently in the ICU right now fighting this battle with courage, strength, prayer, and the love that they have for one another. Come carry them, protect them though everything.

Teddies, books and toys.
Come wrap them in safety,
With hugs and love and care.
Stand by when they're sleeping,
Walk with them everywhere.
Restore his/her little body,
To leap and dance again.

Be my little ones best friend.
