On the early morning of May 18th our dear Ashley suffered a traumatizing incident which left her fighting for her life and the safety of her 7 week old baby (Justiss). While recovering from a c-section from only a few weeks prior, Ashley was stabbed 5 times in her shoulder, chest, and abdomen. Both her gallbladder and liver were punctured severely. She was home with the baby and unable to call 911, or her family to receive medical attention for over 3 hours afterward. She suffered for hours and lost more than 1 liter of blood. Upon arriving at the ER she was notified that she was bleeding internally, and would require an emergency exploratory laparotomy. She was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours and came out without her gallbladder. Her liver was cauterized to control and stop the bleeding. She has staples and stitches holding her abdomen together and is currently unable to walk, stand, sit, or care for her baby unassisted. Ashley, who is normally full of life, positivity, and cheer has had to re-arrange her entire world due to this unforeseen circumstance. She is slammed with medical bills, physical therapy expenses, childcare expenses, and paying bills while out of work due to the recovery. She has two small daughters to care for as she heals and every little bit helps. Thank you so much and God bless.
