Fundraiser for reliable transportation for Aria
Aria was born with a very rare congenital malformation called PFFD.
She has just completed her second surgery to address the underlying growth abnormality in her femur bone and hip. This surgery will require her to wear an external fixator (a round cage-like device attached to her femur bone that allows for manual bone lengthening) for 5 months.
During this time she will require regular visits to her orthopedic surgeon in Jacksonville, as well as biweekly physical therapy visits (approx 1.5 hrs away).
I have started this fundraiser in an attempt to help Aria's mom purchase a reliable car.
Her current car (which has over 200k miles on it) is overheating weekly and has been deemed not worthy of repair/investment by her mechanic.
She had worked very hard this year to save all she could as a single parent on a minimum-wage income but is still in need of some help. Unfortunately, prices for even a used car are at an all time high.
Following the surgery, she is on an unpaid leave of absence from work which has left her with significant financial burden. Additionally, her current vehicle is not equipped well for transporting Aria's wheelchair and equipment and creates a challenge when trying to get Aria in and out due to her leg being locked into a fully extended position.
Thank you reading and listening to her story. Please feel free to share her story and this page if you feel comfortable doing so. This is her first time ever using GoFundMe.
If you are able to contribute, share or if you know of anyone with a local connection for buying an affordably priced used car, we greatly appreciate your support.
