Help Amalie Gunn fight Cancer

This year has been a rough one for us all, but it’s been exceptionally rough for our beautiful Amalie who recently discovered a lump which turned out to be Stage 2B Invasive Breast Cancer. The diagnosis consists of an aggressive, fast growing factor which is also likely to return; the Cancer has also already spread to her Lymph nodes. Due to the aggressive nature, treatment has been expedited and she has just completed 1 of 6 rounds of chemo, which will be followed by surgery, radiation and at least 5 years of targeted hormone therapy, she is at the beginning of a long journey ahead.
At only 35 years old, Amalie is a loving wife to Andrew and phenomenal mama to their unbelievably cute 16 month old son Eli, family life will look a lot different in the coming months; Amalie is facing weeks away from her family after each treatment and with reduced support from family and caregivers due to COVID precautions, Andrew has also taken leave from work to care for their family.
To know Amalie, is to love Amalie. She is an exceptional friend who is lovingly referred to as ‘Mum’ by many and her caring, selfless nature, and beautiful spirit are just a few of her greatest traits. The outpouring of love and concern for Amalie since her diagnosis and endless offers of support has led to the creation of this Go Fund Me page; we’re hoping to raise funds to support Amalie, Andrew and Eli through this tough time to assist in covering:
- monthly fixed costs while Amalie and Andrew are both not working
- the cost of drugs and treatments not covered by MSP of their extended health plan
- the costs of supplementary treatments such as Naturopathic Care and Immune Support Drugs
- the associated costs with bi-weekly appointments; travel to and from Lions Gate Hospital and accommodation after each treatment to reduce exposure to Eli.
Amalie is an advocate of healthy living who has passionately worked in the snowboard and bike industry in the Sea to Sky corridor for over 15 years. Amalie was working with Giant Bicycles managing the Liv brand in Canada where she has been a leader in creating opportunities for women of all levels in cycling locally and nationally.
