Fundraiser for Ahmed Family Burglary Recovery
In the early morning of September 13th, a burglar broke into the apartment of the Ahmed family and stole several items, including wallets, cash, credit & debit cards, keys, multiple electronics, and even the car from the parking garage. The thieves not only stole money and personal possessions but also shattered the family's sense of safety and security, as they no longer feel safe in their own home.
Many of you may know Hosam Ahmed, who works as a colleague of mine in a laboratory at the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Hosam was a fully-trained physician in his home country of Egypt before moving to the United States to seek opportunities here. He currently works as a research fellow in a lab trying to improve outcomes for children with heart disease, while in the evenings he studies to be able to complete his physician training exams so that he can train and practice as a physician in the US. He is a kind, compassionate, and hard-working individual who always shows generosity to others and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Hosam is a husband and a father of two young boys, and his wonderful family has been deeply affected by the actions of criminals yesterday morning.
As the Ahmed family tries to recuperate what was lost from this terrible invasion and regain some measure of peace and security, I hope that we as a community in Cincinnati can contribute to help one of our own recover. Please contribute in whatever way you can, either with a donation, and/or by spreading the word on social media. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
