“All the world’s a stage”—William Shakespeare
When life is already full of drama, why do we need theatre?
I'm raising money to benefit Clarion Performing Arts Center's year-round Children's Theater Program.
This year-round program aims to develop life skills through theater art. These skills include speaking, reciting, movements, facial and body expressions, creative writing and thoughtful deliberation. Students will also learn how to do group and self-critique. Children ages 6 to 14 are invited to enroll.
Incorporating music, poetry and visual art make theatre a well-rounded art form. At Clarion, we bring this vital art form to the children of immigrants and low-income families. Your donation will help us keep these classes at a low cost ($5 per child per class) or free, so that all children may enjoy the benefit.
To live with the drama of our own life, we must have perspectives. Perspective gives us the tools to stay strong when life is rough. Perspective gives insights into human behaviors and relationships, expanding our awareness to include things that we don’t know and things that we are afraid to confront. Theatre is the place where perspectives are gained. Through centuries of plays, all emotions and actions that connect us to one another can be found.
Children love Halloween because it is a time for them to turn into their favorite characters. That is theatre. Being able to exercise the imagination in a safe environment and learn the tools to create a character, a scene, and an entirely new environment that is outside of our daily existence is how we make changes in life.
Theatre provides the opportunity to explore every aspect of humanity so that we are equipped to navigate this complex world and be able to appreciate it in its full glory.
Please donate and share this campaign with your friends. Any amount is appreciated. Thank you!
