Dear Family members, Friends, and Community Members,

I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of Kayceson Barkley's unexpected death.

We are absolutely devastated by Kayceson’s passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of the service. Based on researching expenses and quotes we’ve received, here is a breakdown of all the costs involved in a funeral service for Kayceson:

Full Service [Includes facility fees, embalming, hearse, viewing & graveside service] $4,825 - $8,618

Caskets - $350 - $1,500

Outer Burial Containers - $1,275—$2,500

Burial vaults and grave liners are containers that enclose a casket in a grave. Although District of Columbia law does not require the use of an outer burial container; some cemeteries may require one because they help to prevent the grave from sinking deeper into the ground. $1,275—$2,500

Church Services - $1250

Online Obituary and Funeral Program costs - $250

Food for the Funeral $2,000

Counseling services $3,000

Other Incidentals. $2,500

Baby Kayceson is the light of everyone's life. Those who were lucky enough to know him will always remember him that way - climbing, jumping, laughing. He was sweet, sensitive, funny, endlessly energetic, and incredibly intelligent.

On Saturday, June 8th at approximately 5:00 p.m., Baby Kayceson tragically lost his life. We are still awaiting the official autopsy report.

He was 2 years old.

The loss is deeply felt by his immediate family - especially his mother, Dominique Barkley; Grandfather, Kevin Richardson; Grandmother, Cecilia Barkley; Uncle, Darrius Barkley; and aunts - DaJonna Richardson, CeAnte Barkley, and Jasmine Barkley is unimaginable.

No one expects to bury a child. Please help Baby Kayceson's family lay him to rest and help them on their journey to find peace.

All funds will go to Baby Kayceson's funeral expenses and to help Dominique in her healing journey.
