Join the Fight with Nancy - One Step at a Time

This is fundraiser to raise funds for Nancy Dempsey.  Nancy unfortunately last week was diagnosed with leukaemia, only six years after beating breast cancer. Being only 53 years old, this has been a major blow to her.

Nancy lost her sister Breda to breast cancer in 2007, only to get it herself a few years later. Having fought that long hard battle, which really took it's toll on her, she now faces a fresh battle against another horrible illness. After Breda died, Nancy took on raising Breda's three young children Meghan, Saoirse and Robin, along with her own son Kyle. This obviously led to extra pressure on the household and extra pressure on Nancy but she took it all in her stride. It is a testament to her that she’s always willing to put others first and take on that responsibility. Making sure her sister's children had a place to call home and making sure they were alright. That is Nancy in a nutshell. Always looking after others.

Nancy has been a frontline worker for over fifteen years, caring for the elderly in Wexford. The past few years have been very tough on her. Having to get blood test after blood test, she now finds herself in a hospital room which she cannot leave and has no visitors due to the global pandemic we find ourselves in.

This money that we will raise will be a huge weight off her shoulders to help with travelling up and down to hospital and other expenses she will incur in the coming months. The last thing we want is Nancy worrying about money, we want all her energy to be put into getting better. So we would greatly appreciate you being as generous as you possibly can. No amount is too big or too small. Nancy’s treatment is going to be a long and tedious process that is going to take it's toll on her. So let’s show her all the support we can.
