My name is Aarohi Rastogi and I am

the president of the HOSA club at my school. ( Health Occupations Students of America) We need funding for our International Conference. Please look below for the details.

Our HOSA: Future Health Professionals chapter is preparing for the International HOSA Leadership Conference, a tremendous leadership-building activity and a student experience that should not be missed. We are asking our community’s health and STEM based companies to help with the financial burden.

HOSA( Health Occupations Students of America) is an exciting, leadership-driven, educationally advanced, and professionally focused student organization. HOSA members are given the opportunity to associate with many healthcare–focused professionals and students from across the state and the world. We communicate with peers who have a similar focus. We attend meetings that expand our knowledge of cutting-edge health careers. Through leadership training and competition, we gain “soft skills” such as teamwork, interpersonal skills, and dependability. As HOSA members, we are more prepared for the future and therefore perform better in a professional environment and in our college curriculum. We also create future medical and stem leaders in the career fields.

Jamesville Dewitt’s HOSA chapter has made a significant impact on the community this year even though it is the first year doing this club at the school. The club has done fundraisers, like bake sales at our school, a public health presentation about teenage technology addiction and going to the Spring Leadership Conference in Syracuse NY. Being a part of HOSA has taught the students at Jamesville Dewitt High School the value of giving back to our community. We struggled a lot to get the money for the state conference but somehow we managed to pull through and take fourteen kids to states. We thought that since it was our first year we wouldn't make it any further in the competition, but to our surprise we had four people qualify for internationals in Houston, Texas. We have tried to fundraise for this event but we are short on money since a trip like this can be costly. As of now our total costs for our trip to internationals is $4500 for 4 kids and an advisor.
