My name is Sonya aka Sonic, have now been Un'Sonic'd. I have Pancreatic cancer with metastasis to the liver.

In July 2025 I was given a lovely prognosis of 8-9 months to live.

Well, that's not happening, so in my determination to fight this disease, I would like to create awareness of what it is, why it is not on the cancer screening list, why the death sentence is so short and why there is no funding for clinical trials in Canada!

In fact, they don't even test the tumour types so that you can search for clinical trials in other parts of the world.

I am paying a drug company (ironic) in the US to test my tumour type for clinical trials in other parts of the world. So I can go and maybe live a little longer and make some memories with my daughter.

I’m not ready to go yet.

I am finding that Cancer is a big cost burden, drugs, travel, tests and many other unexpected needs etc.

I am also trying some holistic options as the only course of treatments I have been offered here is aggressive chemo to keep me alive, no surgery, no immunotherapy, nada. The chemo has been tough and they’ve had to cancel a number of treatments.
