Fundraise Favela Brothers Family

First of all, How Y’all Doing?

I hope you’re all doing well!!

This is Obi from Favela Brothers Tours, And I would like to share some of the things we’ve been facing in Rio De Janeiro/ Brazil during the Pandemic of COVID 19.
As you all know, I’m a Tour Guide in Rio De Janeiro and have been for about 5 years. This is my main source of income for me and my family. Since March Brazil has been on Lockdown/Curfew, and because of this a lot of people have lost their Jobs. In The Favela where I live this situation of outbreak is especially hard as we depend on income we get from work daily to survive.
Brazil reached a peak of the disease and became one of countries with more cases of Covid around the world over with 1 million cases and over 50.000 deaths across the country.
We are receiving some Emergency aid (100 USD per Family) from The Government but it isn’t being destined for everyone.
Last Summer Season, I had the opportunity of Hiring two Guides from Rocinha to be part of the Favela brothers Team (this was advice I got from you, you never grow a business working alone), and it was a such an awesome feeling to be able to give back and support the community. One of the guides is Gustavo/24 and the other Fabricio/23 (They are part of the Capoeira Show at the End of the Favela Walking Tour).
We have no clue of when we will be back to work again, and we’re relying on these donations hoping there will be enough to support us until December.
