Hi, my name is Megan Jones, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my friend Allison and her family.
On August 8, 2024, Allison was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer, with metastasis to her pelvic lymph nodes and liver. She underwent two major surgeries, including extensive procedures that required an incision from her chest down through her lower abdomen. She has endured months of aggressive treatment, hospital stays, and recovery — all while being a devoted mother to five biological children and four bonus babies who rely on her strength every single day.
During this already unimaginable year, Allison’s husband also suffered a stroke. As the family’s primary source of income, his medical emergency created additional financial strain at a time when they were already struggling to keep up with expenses. Many of Allison’s treatments have been paid upfront and out of pocket, and bills have continued to add up.
In February 2025, after liver surgery, Allison was declared cancer-free — a moment of hope the family desperately needed. She continued chemotherapy through November until her body required a break, at which point she transitioned care from UT Health Tyler to Texas Oncology in Longview.
On Christmas Eve 2025, Allison underwent a PET scan. On New Year’s Eve, she received devastating news: her cancer has returned and has spread to her neck lymph nodes, chest, liver, and pelvic lymph nodes. This diagnosis has changed the course of her treatment and brought renewed uncertainty, fear, and urgency.
To make matters even more difficult, health insurance is not guaranteed moving into the new year, and private insurance options are extremely expensive and not feasible for their family. The cost of ongoing cancer treatment, insurance, travel, and everyday living expenses have become overwhelming.
Allison is one of the strongest and most selfless people I know — and she would never ask for help herself. The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide her financial support so she can focus on fighting, healing, and spending precious time with her children during this time.
