Australian Refugee Family - Dentist Exam Fund

Donation protected
Wadeed and his family came to Tasmania as refugees from the city of Aleppo. They fled to Lebanon with their young family during the height of the conflict in Syria and hope to make Tasmania their permanent home. Wadeed and Nida were doctors of Dentistry in Aleppo, owning their own business employing many people. They were particularly targeted by the ISIS forces during the war in Aleppo because they are Christian, professional and community leaders.

They have made a home in our beautiful island state, they love Tasmania  and wish to continue to rebuild their lives through gaining recognition for their qualifications as Dentists. Their Dentistry qualifications are not fully recognised by the Australian Dentistry Association and so they must pass intensive exams written and practical in order to have their qualifications recognised. These exams are prohibitively costly.

To their great credit and hard work both Wadeed and Nida have passed the written exam and now are eligible to progress to sit the practical exam. This is a costly and intensive preparation and exam that is held only in Melbourne over a period of several days. To prepare for this exam they need to do a practical course that is for 3 -4 weeks also in Melbourne.  Wadeed and Nida will study together to prepare for and sit the exam. "Better two than one alone".

We need to raise the money as soon as possible in order for Wadeed and Nida to apply in mid January to sit the practical exam later in June of 2020.  There is a set window of time in which to apply and he needs to secure the funds to do the preparation exam course and purchase the materials to practice  for the exam.

My husband Joe and I have come to know this outstanding family and commend them to you for your support and patronage.  Due to the cost and intensity of the practical exam Wadeed and Nida will work together to sit the exam in 2020.

SCOPE OF COSTS  (the following is an estimation of costs only)
It is their intention for Wadeed and Nida to both  apply in January 2020 and to work together to sit the exam in 2020.
