My heart is shattered. On October 12th, a devastating fire broke out in our home. My precious baby brother, Michael "Kelechi" Chris-Obi, was inside when it happened. We still don't know the cause of the fire that took everything from us.
Tragically, Kelechi inhaled too much carbon monoxide. Though first responders tried to revive him, it was too late. My dear little brother died alone in that fire. His brain is gone, though his body lingers on life support.
I'm utterly devastated. As Kelechi's only brother, his death leaves a hole in my heart that can never be filled. He was so young, so full of life and promise. To lose him like this is more than I can bear.
Now, I humbly ask for your help laying Kelechi to rest. The costs of a funeral and handling final arrangements are more than my grieving family can afford right now. No amount of money will bring my sweet brother back, but giving him a dignified goodbye may grant us some small measure of closure. The money will go to this and the renewal of anything lost in the fire and our home. From the bottom of my shattered heart, I thank you for any gift you can provide to honor Kelechi's memory.
