In loving memory of Manreet Dhillon
Donation protected
The recent and tragic passing of Manreet, has come at the end of a long and brave battle with cancer. Words can't describe what Manreet means to those who have lost her.
She was a loved fiancé, with hopes and dreams of a future filled with love and family and adventure.
She was a friend, who loved and gave and listened and laughed.
She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a survivor, a dreamer, and a fighter who always sought to bring joy to the lives of those she loved.
She was a young girl who even while she was unwell, worked hard to raise money to donate to charities and causes in need.
Since the age of 21 Manreet was diagnosed with cancer 4 times, in her short and bright life, she also beat cancer 4 times, with her strength, bravery, and the love and support of her childhood sweetheart, family, friends and of course the doctors and nurses who worked so hard to keep her with us.
Sadly for all those touched by this effervescent and selfless girl, by the age of only 26, shortly after she was cleared of cancer for the 4th and final time, Manreet was taken by a virus that her immune system, weakened by the harrowing rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy could not fight. Due to the severity of her 4th diagnosis of cancer and the low chance of beating this latest attack of cancer, no hospital would accept her as a patient and advised only palliative care. But Manreet and Farvinder her fiancé held on to hope, and the belief she would beat the odds as she had done before. So they turned to their last hope, which was private care, the care she received worked, she beat her cancer. With only a 30% chance of beating this latest battle with cancer she won, like the fighter she is, but ultimately it wasn't enough to save her. Manreet is at rest now, and her battle is over, but the love she imparted while she was here will remain with those touched by her.
What we hope to do in the wake of her passing, is to give Manreet one last gift, we want to help those who have been left behind, to help her fiancé with the aftermath of this loss and others like her with their fight against this terrible disease.
This page has been set up by friends and family of Manreet and Farvinder, with the purpose of raising money for Cancer research Uk and the Teenage cancer trust.
