2022/2023 Fight highlights: Click for video
Ever since I started Judo when I was 10 years old, it has always been my dream to compete in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. I can begin qualifying for the games starting 2025. The first major step in this journey is to start competing in European Cups, which are hosted every month by the European Judo Union, competing in these will provide me with a world ranking (which will affect seedings for future competitions, where a better seeding will increase the likelihood of a higher placing). I am now approaching the beginning of my u21 career which is a vital stage of my career as this is what indicates future success in the sport; which is why it is imperative to begin competing in European cups to start racking up world ranking points.
Costs
Each European cup can cost around £400-£800 (depending on whether or not it is followed by a training camp) for accommodation, entry fee, food, and transportation. This is too large a sum for me and my family to afford on our own which is why I ask for your help. After placing top 5 in one of these events I could potentially qualify for the u18 European or World championships toward the end of the year which would be a good stepping stone into my u21 career.
I will be sending a report every time I travel, summarising what money was spent to ensure full transparency.
Notable results
As of 1st December 2022 was no 1 in UK u18 ranking list (Dropped to 5th place due to other players having accumulated several ranking points in Europe where i have not had the chance to fight)
British Championships u18 Bronze(2019,2021)
Welsh Open u18(Bronze 2021 u66kg, Gold 2022 u73kg)
English Closed 2022( Silver u18 66kg and Bronze u21 66kg)
Liverpool Open 2023 3x gold( Gold u18, Gold u21, Gold seniors) u73kg
English Open 2023 (Bronze u18 73kg)
I have known for years the dedication this sport requires, and I look forward to showcasing my ability on the world stage. Any contributions you make towards my career would make a huge difference in my future in this sport.
