Help Fund the Steel Hawks and the Future of STEM
Donation protected
In 2008, with just a screwdriver, seven students, and a dream to build a robot, the Townsend Harris Steel Hawks were born. Fifteen years later, our team is 180 members strong, with students from all across NYC: originating from 20+ countries, with 8 home languages, many of whom are low-income and first-generation. Last year, we ranked 4th in NY and 105th Worldwide (of 3400 teams)
Through robotics, we build hands-on skills and life-changing experiences in engineering
and teamwork – to not only build robots, but also students. However, because of recent changes to the FIRST program and the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, and despite our best efforts with 6AM coffee sales, fundraisers, and grant applications, the funding and future of our program – the resources to maintain our team and support our students – is in jeopardy.
Your donation would directly support the members of the Steel Hawks, helping us purchase materials and tools to build our robot, enter and transport our team to competitions, and construct a practice field for use by both our team and any other teams in the NYC area in need.
Any amount you are able to contribute is truly appreciated by both our students and mentors, and even a share to your friends, family, or fellow Harrisites would help us tremendously.
And a huge thank you to those who have donated, shared, or even viewed our fundraiser
-The Steel Hawks would not be where we are today without you!!!
