Friends and family,
About two weeks ago, Steven and Jena were given the difficult news that doctors would no longer be able to help Jena with her breast cancer battle. Please read the post below, written by my brother, Steve:
“For those of you who didn’t know, my brave, courageous, amazing wife, Jena, has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for the last two and a half years. She has fought the bravest fight of anyone I know. She fought the hardest fight for me, our three incredible boys, our families, and all of those who have supported us throughout this difficult journey.
During these last two and a half years, I prayed many prayers of healing over my wife. Over the last few months, I have come to understand how much God loves His children, and because of this, my prayers had changed. I asked God to give me one of two miracles;
The first miracle I asked for was, “God, please miraculously, physically heal my wife’s body and allow her to walk with us here on Earth for many more years to come and I will continue to love you and worship you.”
The second miracle I asked for was; “God, please miraculously reach down to my wife with your merciful hand and take all of her pain and suffering away so that she can be with you in all of your glory without pain, without suffering and I will continue to Love you and worship you. With either of these two miracles, I will know how much you love her and how you will always be the loving Father we all have been told about or have lovingly experienced.”
Today God gave me one of my miracles and now my beautiful wife is with Him.
I ask for your continued prayers over my family as we go through this difficult time. That we may experience peace, understanding, strength, wisdom and above all, the Love of the Father. That although it may feel defeating, dark or lonely at times, that we are reminded everyday that God is still holding us and will carry all of us through the fire. That we will see victory on the other side and hold onto the hope that one day we will be together again. Thank you all for your sincere love and support during this time.”
Many of you have reached out to my brother and our family, wondering how you can help. In addition to prayer support for Steven and the boys, you are welcome to give him and his family a monetary gift, in memory of Jena.
