Hi Friends and family,

Thank you to all who have been supportive of this film which Amarbir Singh, Tineke Robson and I all started during the NZ Covid Lockdown of August 2021-Jan 2022.

While we raised about 3,000 NZ through crowdfunding, which covered our pre-production and production costs, we are still short of funds for post-production. To complete the film and submit it to festivals, we need NZD 4000 to cover post-production costs. The funds will cover the cost of the following:

--Sound Design, Composition, Editing

--Studio Costs, Software, Materials

--Film Festival Fees

For anyone who donates NZD $4,000 to our film, we would like to offer them the title of Executive Producer :)

Anyone who donates $1,000 to $3500 will receive a credit in the film.

What will the film look like visually?

The aesthetic and color grading of the Knot is similar to the "Power of the Dog" and "Tree of Life." The cinematography plays an integral role as "The Knot" has minimal dialogue and relies on the visual landscape to drive the story.

What is "The Knot" about?

The Knot is about one woman's descent into a dream world where she confronts her suppressed reality. Zoe's cutting of cords speaks to our ability as human beings to pull ourselves out of narratives, relationships, and ideologies that no longer serve us.

We hope that it will enable viewers to examine those things in their own life which may or may not be holding them back from their true potential.

Who is the film for?

Our target audience will primarily be women ages 20-50. The film will resonate with women who enjoy dream interpretation, psychoanalysis, and philosophy as well as thoughtful individuals who desire to look at things beneath the surface.

Where will it go?

Once it's finished, we will be submitting "The Knot" to festivals in New Zealand and Australia and international film festivals. We also intend to pitch "The Knot" to the streaming platform MUBI.
