Funding Parker's Survival

Tax deductible
My name is Lauren, and I am a volunteer at Forgotten Felines of Huntsville. I am here seeking help funding Parker, a very sick kitten in our care.

Parker was abandoned in critical condition in a Tennessee parking lot as a tiny 10-week-old kitten, likely because of a large umbilical hernia that required surgery. Against all odds, he was able to recover 100% and he blossomed into a playful sweetheart who loves on everyone in the room.

Over the weeks, Michelle M, a longtime volunteer of Forgotten Felines, witnessed his decline from being a rambunctious kitten into a sad little soul. He started losing weight, and fast. He stopped playing, stopped eating, stopped purring, and hardly moves most days. His eyes are sunken in, and he is half of the weight he should be. At this stage, Parker is now only a shell of his former self. This decline is being caused by Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a viral disease that results in death in 100% of cases.

The only way Parker will survive is through treatment with GS441524. GS441524 is a very expensive antiviral, but it gives him great odds to live a long and happy life! Each vial is $50, and he will need around 50 vials, as well as blood work to monitor his progress during treatment. We estimate it to cost about $4,000. As a 501(c) nonprofit, we are spread too thin to afford this treatment.

Michelle and I refuse to let this sweet kitten perish. We refuse to “throw him out” like he had been thrown out in that Tennessee parking lot.

Humans have failed him enough, please help us fund Parker’s survival.

What is Dry FIP?

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease that affects cats. It is caused by the feline coronavirus which can cause two forms of FIP: a wet form and a dry form. Parker’s form, dry FIP, is characterized by the accumulation of granulomas (collections of inflammatory cells) in various organs, which can cause organ dysfunction or failure.
