Funding My Archaeological Dig

I've had a passion for ancient history and archaeology since I was in elementary school, and I am raising money to work as a student researcher on an archaeological dig called the Gabii Project. In this role, I will take classes at their field school which will develop my archeology skills, give me credit towards graduating from Yale University, and give me the chance to excavate a variety of recently discovered sites from the early to middle Roman Republic.

Participating in this project would be a step toward my goal of a career in archaeology or classics and a great opportunity to build relationships with professionals in these fields.

The project takes place from June 17th to July 21st, but payment is due by April 1st, so I would like to have the funds by March 15th.

The tuition is $4,500 (USD) and a plane ticket which should be in the ballpark of $750 to $800. I have some money saved as well as a job at the Yale Art Gallery but not enough to cover it all.

If I am unable work on the Gabii project, all funds will be returned.

If I meet my soft goal of $1,000, I will stand in the middle of Old Campus in a toga and recite Roman poetry for three hours.

If I raise $1,500, I will wear a toga and laurels around the Yale campus for a week.
