My name is Valentina, and I’m a proud Mexican woman who dreams of getting the best education possible.

Since I was a law student, I’ve dreamed of specializing in human rights at one of the top universities in the U.S . In 2016, I discovered the LL.M program in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL), and I knew right away that it was my path.

After years of hard work, sacrifice, and unrelenting determination, I finally made it—In 2024 I enrolled in the program I had dreamed of for so long!!.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I left my little hometown to move to Mexico City, the heart of the country, where competition is fierce, and every day is a struggle to prove yourself. I fought to exceed expectations, pushing myself beyond my limits in a city that demands so much from those who dare to chase their dreams.

But now, my dream is at risk.

I’ve always been an independent woman, and everything I’ve achieved has been through my own effort. Since I started my professional career, I’ve supported myself with nothing but my work and my willpower. I’ve built my life with sacrifice, balancing my career stability with my aspirations.

I work in what I’m passionate about, and although completing this master’s degree is crucial for my future, I can’t afford to quit my job. Unfortunately, most scholarship programs require full-time, in-person enrollment, which makes me ineligible for financial aid.

I’m $5,000 USD away from securing my spot next semester—and I refuse to hit pause on my dreams again! After acing last semester with all A’s, I’m unstoppable and ready to crush it. Trust me, I’m all in!

I don’t want to have to choose between my future and my stability. I can’t give up what I’ve worked so hard for.

Me llamo Valentina! Soy una mexicana que sueña con obtener la mejor educacion posible!

Desde que era estudiante de Derecho, soñé con especializarme en derechos humanos en una de las mejores universidades de Estados Unidos. En 2016, descubrí el programa de Maestría en American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) y supe que ese era mi destino.

Pasaron años de esfuerzo, sacrificios y trabajo incansable hasta que, ¡¡finalmente en 2024, logré inscribirme!!.

Pero hoy, ese sueño está en riesgo.

Llegar hasta aquí no ha sido nada fácil. Dejé mi ciudad para mudarme a la Ciudad de México, la capital del país, donde la competencia es feroz y cada día es una lucha por demostrar de qué estás hecha. Luché por superar las expectativas, esforzándome al máximo en una ciudad que pide mucho a quienes se atreven a seguir sus sueños.

Siempre he sido una mujer independiente, y todo lo que he logrado ha sido gracias a mi propio esfuerzo. Desde que comencé mi vida profesional, me he sostenido sola, sin más respaldo que mi trabajo y mi determinación. He construido mi camino con mucho sacrificio, equilibrando mi estabilidad con mis aspiraciones.

Trabajo en lo que amo y en lo que creo, y aunque mi maestría es un paso fundamental para mi futuro, renunciar a mi empleo no es una opción. Desafortunadamente, la mayoría de los programas de becas requieren ser estudiante presencial y de tiempo completo, lo que hace que no sea elegible para becas.

Me faltan 5mil dólares para asegurar mi lugar el próximo semestre. ?¡No quiero poner en pausa mis estudios otra vez! ¡El semestre pasado obtuve puras A's! ¡Créeme, no estoy jugando, voy con todo en esta maestría!

No quiero elegir entre mi futuro y mi estabilidad.
