As some of you already know, our friend, Mikal Krall, was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. This diagnosis came as a huge shock to him and his family and friends. We are now leveraging a GoFundMe account to help support Mikal through this battle. This GoFundMe is being managed by his colleagues at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

ALS is a terminal disease that attacks and weakens your nervous system, affecting basic tasks like walking, speaking, eating, and more. ALS typically begins either as weakness in the limbs, called limb (or spinal) onset, or difficulty in speaking or swallowing, termed bulbar onset.

As of Friday, August 26th, Mikal has been affirmatively diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS. Mikal will see an ALS specialist in a couple of months to determine his actual rate of decline.

Mikal has dedicated the last seven years to Thermo Fisher Scientific, doing the work he loves while making considerable contributions to the success of the business and the teams he supports.
