Funding Freyja's Fruition

Hello,

 

I am Freyja Foy , a 52-year-old transgender woman, and I am in need of your assistance. Perhaps we have met or maybe you haven’t even heard my name before. Maybe we’ll meet in the future, here or there, and I will shake your hand or give you a hug. Handshakes are so formal. A hug it is. I already owe so many people a hug, what’s a few more.

 

You see, it turns out that having an epiphany about your gender identity can happen at any time. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, when work is scarce and funds even more so. I have been fortunate to qualify for insurance, which is meeting my medical needs, for the most part, aside from a few copays for prescriptions. But there are things that my insurance doesn't cover and those are where I need assistance.

 

Perhaps by contributing to this exercise you’ll be paying a train fare to one of my many electrolysis sessions or to a doctor’s appointment. You might be buying the tea that I drink before one of those appointments. It’s possible you’d be allowing me to replace a bra that no longer fits. (Eek!) You may even be moisturizing my skin, which really needs sun screen now, more than ever.

 

This ongoing fundraiser is based on needs that I know will arise along my journey. That includes keeping my phone on, so I can make appointments, order refills, or keep up with friends. Both of them. I've also found out that transportation eats up a lot of my funds, as I'm typically spending $33 a week just on train fares.

 

Whatever assistance you are able to provide, whether it be monetary or sharing my link, I will appreciate it more than you can know. So thank you. Thank You for helping me continue to move forward towards a better, healthier me! And if you’re still worried about my use of the word “exercise,” I’ve never seen the inside of a gym. Maybe that’s something else my future holds.
