Director's Statement
"Even the most seemingly put-together people get mercilessly tested throughout their lifetime. It’s Zanna Hart’s 22nd birthday, and she couldn’t be less enthused about it if she tried. Just three months ago, she was on a path. She completed the first semester of her final year at FIU’s chemistry school at the top of her class. She was adored by many, easy on the eyes, and in a loving, live-in relationship with her boyfriend Jade- she had it all. But when Jade tragically exited the picture, Zanna is left struggling to calculate her next moves in the wake of all that he left behind.
This story is a tender exploration of the complexities of picking oneself up after a massive loss. On paper, Zanna is the strong Black woman trope. She believes that she is expected to wrestle with her losses and newfound responsibilities on her own without showing any vulnerability. But, as her birthday continues to unfold, she slowly becomes aware that she may not have it all together. In Jaded, Zanna has to learn that accepting help is not a sign of weakness, but a necessary step in overcoming life’s many curveballs."

Executive Producer: Carlos Arroyo
I love building high-performing teams with an eye for creating innovative and entertaining pieces with commercial appeal and a love for the humanist, symbolic interactions of the mundane, everyday world. An enthusiastic young man eager to contribute to any company's success through hard work, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Motivated to learn, grow and excel in this industry.
I'm a Mexican-American filmmaker who is interested in the symbolic human interaction of the world. Born and partially raised in Chula Vista, I grew accustomed to how the nuances of humans tell their individual stories. A bit later in my childhood, I grew accustomed to watching movies most children wouldn't, and probably shouldn't. My stem for capturing these humanistic interactions then became bolder when I secretly recorded my family and their friends. Since then, I have been making films since I was 16 and plan on dying to make a film.
