A mom, daughter, sister, & best friend to hundreds of both children and adults, who we all know as Paula Vidal. She has built a lifetime of memories with those that have known her since she was a child and those that only recently got to meet her. My mother was quite selective with her friends, but despite that had an unconditional love for all that surrounded her. Her number one love was always God, who always looked after her during the good and the bad. Their bond was powerful and one of a kind, which made it evident that her affection for others came directly from her love for Him.

People would visit my mom at the hospital and tell her how good she looked because she always laughed and smiled no matter how she truly felt. Her laugh and smile is how everyone remembers her now. Her ability to light up a room without a single drink, was incredible and it was due to her contagious happiness, her penchant for dancing, & pure love for her fellow man and woman. Not a single moment did she let herself be defined by any illness, but smiled in the face of it all, and gave others that same hope and belief that nothing was wrong in the world. That it is only a journey we need to overcome.

I am honored to have served my mother until the last second of her life. Her legacy lives on through the children she’s helped while working at many schools and daycares, through her best friends, through her siblings, mother, and me.

Although we are left with a hole in our hearts because my mother has left the physical world, we can slowly fill it with the memories of the infinite joy and love that she had for every one of us. May you live on forever in our hearts Mami & may we meet again soon. ❤️

As an only child & now being the sole caretaker of my grandma, I have faced many challenges, but this is by far the toughest one I have yet to overcome. Thank you all for your prayers, kind words, love and support during these difficult moments. As many of us know, the cancer journey is not an easy one.
