Hello!

I am trying to raise funds for surgeries for my dog, Miley. Miley is an 11 year old Jack Russel Terrier rescue that I adopted in January of 2024. She needs to have her spleen and potentially cancerous tumors in her liver and stomach removed.

Because of her pre-existing conditions of Cushing's and kidney disease, as well as a enlarged mammary gland, I was not able to get affordable medical insurance for her care. My out of pocket funds, specifically for her medical needs, are depleted due to all the diagnostic testing she has had over the past few months. Thankfully, after all the diagnostic procedures were performed by her veterinarian, Miley was diagnosed with systemic hypertension.

I have been religious with Miley’s care and needs since adopting her. She “lives the dream" as an older rescue.

In spite of her consistent veterinary care, no concerns were ever expressed to me by her vet. She always exited her routine exams with flying colors. When I took her to the ER last June for a seizure, the ER vet expressed concern about an enlarged mammary gland on her stomach. Further testing uncovered a tumor in her spleen. I was blindsided by these results and the cost of surgery to remove her spleen.

Since July, Miley has had an x-ray to be sure the cancerous mammary gland had not metastasized to her lungs, which it had not. A most recent in-depth ultrasound, revealed that nothing has invaded her lymph nodes, but unfortunately, now there are four tumors in her spleen, one huge tumor in her liver and abnormal findings around her adrenal glands. The results of these findings were devastating to me and all involved in Miley's care.

Miley's vet feels that there is still hope for her to lead a normal life however this requires the following procedures:

Liver Lobectomy and a splenectomy

Mammary mass removal

Adrenal testing

I received an estimate of $12,000 to cover the cost of the surgery. This is way beyond what I can afford at this time.

Miley is a great companion. She has filled a void in my life that I have had for a long while. She is still very active and loving. I would be lost without her. I am asking you for any kind of financial support you can offer, no matter how small.
