I am a family friend of Martin Lee Johnson and his fiance Shayle Pettis.
I am setting this up in memorium for Marty to help with any funeral expenses and immediate expenses his children and family need help with during this time of grief, pain and search for answers.
On 2/22/2022 Martin Lee Johnson aka "Marty" was found on the 3300th block of 25th Ave south in Minneapolis at 8:38pm unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene as a result of a gunshot to the stomach, further details are available in the news link below. Since then news reports began to emerge regarding the homeowner’s self-defense claims in shooting; to which the family is strongly disputing after viewing the video footage from the home owners security system and calling for a thorough investigation from hennepin county into the confirmed 2 shooters and their usage of a 9MM and an AR-15 assault rifle to "defend" their home against an unarmed man instead of calling authorities if they felt they were in immediate danger.
Marty was a father and a beloved member of his family community. With his passing he leaves behind a fiance, Shayle Pettis, young children and a multitude of family and friends that all share in the devastation of his sudden loss and demanding justice
We as friends, family and a community are pulling together to support his family in a time of need. These funds will be deposited in an account specifically for the family to cover funeral expenses, as well as expenses that they will incur over the next few months.
