Funding for Major Surgery Time off

Hi, my name is Katherine, and I am asking for help raising $12,000 in order to cover my living expenses so I can take two months off from work for major surgery. In Canada we are blessed to have a great healthcare system, but we don't have government money assistance to cover the costs associated with taking time off, if we are self-employed, for medical reasons. I postponed a year ago having a hysterectomy and organ tuck-up due to a organ prolapse, as I couldn't afford the time off, because I am a self-employed hairdresser. In the following year, my prolapse considerably worsened after a fall and the effects of gravity, with some of my organs hanging from my body....this situation was so miserable, as you can imagine...sitting down meant sitting on these organs! Standing, they were like a grapefruit hanging, pulling my abdomen and aching. I won't go into more details. Fortunately my wonderful OBGYN was able to use a specialized Pessary to reinforce my Pelvic floor, but this is a temporary measure, and bladder and kidney infections can and have happened. Because of the nature of my work, standing all day, I have been told to take two months off at least, or the surgery won't take. I will have to continue to pay my work rent even when not there, plus pay my home rent and living expenses. With so many people in the world struggling to have their most basic needs met, asking for money from you is not done lightly, but any help, no matter how small, or the gift of sharing my Go-Fund-Me on your social networks in lieu of a cash donation, would be wonderfully helpful. I can't continue to put this off any longer, and my surgeon has put me on the cancellation list, as the operating rooms are backed up for a year, so as soon as my funds are ready, I can accept a cancellation, should one come available.
