Funding for Dexter’s second IVDD surgery

Hi everyone, thank you for clicking to read.
In march Dexter came down with his first battle of ivdd (Intervertebral disc disease), as such caring dachshund parents we always tried our best to make sure Dexter was using ramps and not jumping causing any injury. Unfortunately this wasn’t good enough and out of no where Dexter became paralysed and had to be rushed into spinal surgery, he spent 12 weeks recovering and he done amazing, he was attending weekly physio therapies and hydroptherapy sessions to strengthen his legs and back muscles. Then Wednesday 26th June Dexter was lying down, when he got up and fell to the side and he had relapsed and was in agony. We managed to get some strong pain relief from our vets and was advised to put him on strict crate rest for four weeks hoping it was just a flair up and would heal on it’s own. His injury seemed to worsen and he has now become paralysed needing more surgery. We have been told the surgery should be successful and hopefully he can fully heal with the intended physio and hydrotherapy.
Dexter is one of a kind doggy and I know all pets are but Dexter has been our guardian angel, he’s the most gently caring dog, and he didn’t leave our side while my partner was fighting a brain tumour. He was there when he left the hospital guiding him through it when he lost his speech. I myself am type one diabetic and dexter guides me through my hypos, and has even alerted my partner when he was asleep, he truly is our therapy dog and our saviour. Dexter has amazing insurance but unfortunately we used his yearly amount on his first surgery back in March. This has left us short of funds to ensure Dexter can have the life saving MRI & surgery he truly deserves, as I type this I shed a tear asking for help because he really deserves the best care. As a full time nursing student, my only option will be to leave and go back to work full time if we can’t raise the funds, as you can imagine this is a heartbreaking decision so I am asking for your help to raise £7,500 to cover the cost of the surgery, we are truly grateful to everyone who can help and allow us to give dexter a future as he is only 6 years old. We appreciate time are hard and thank you to anything you can give.
Even the smallest donation is truly appreciated.
Thanks!
