Funding for Brian's medical treatment & recovery
Donation protected
On Sunday, August 13, 2023, Brian Hamel was involved in a bicycle accident, leaving him with spinal cord injuries and paralysis from the neck down, as well as significant injuries to his face. He has already undergone surgery to fuse his spinal cord vertebrae from C3-C7, and reconstructive surgery to repair his lip. He will eventually need dental work for the teeth that were lost and damaged.
Despite his diagnosis of quadriplegia in all four limbs with minimal movement in his extremities, Brian has exceeded doctors' expectations in his recovery during the first few weeks. However, it is clear that Brian will never work again. He will also need many, many months of medical rehabilitation.
The road ahead will be difficult for Brian, Misi, and Loren, and they will certainly be facing a mountain of expenses. If you’re wondering how you can help, you can do so by easing the financial burden even a little bit. Your donation will make a difference, and it will let them know that you care -- which would be a huge comfort as they deal with what is ahead. Please consider a gift, and if you’re not in a position to contribute, please send up prayers for Brian. Donations will go directly to the family.
Thank you!
