Funding for a Light Stimulation Room
Donation protected
Hello friends!
My birthday is just around the corner and this year is going to be a little extra special. I have absolutely everything that I need, so instead of asking for anything for me, I’d like to ask you to give to the Zawadi SEN children in the Lunchbowl Network’s Angel kindergarten.
These kids have so little, and so I’ve decided to challenge myself and cut off ALL my hair to prove that there are many WAY more important things in life!!! And I hope you will support me through this by giving to these beautiful kids!
I am raising money for a light stimulation room. The Angel Kindergarten currently has 12 very vulnerable children in their special educational needs class. Previously these children spent twelve hours a day in a small dark room in Kibera slum with no toys, no sensory equipment, little food and no stimulation. So far, one classroom has been equipped with sensory stimulating equipment and soft mats. Together we can give them more.
It is beautiful to see the Zawadi kids finding joy in the simplest things. So, I would like to re-evaluate where I find joy and significance. My hair has always been a big part of what people notice and remember about me, but I would like to challenge myself to find confidence elsewhere and recognise what is really important to me.
I will be donating the hair itself for cancer and alopecia patients (I have done the research for Australia, but any recommendations are welcome).
