I am a cartoonist, fiction writer, and creator of 1134 Comix. I recently published my first book, and along with my creative partner, started a small online press where the book is available. We have big plans for our press and an array of projects we’ve begun working on. Keep reading to learn a little more about some of what we’re doing and why we’re reaching out to you today.
1134 Comix features free web-comics, like The Adventures of Blakbone, which follows the misadventures of Blakbone the rock n’ roll demon. 1134 Comix was conceived as a platform to publish my weird little comics, but is now working toward offering a space for others who need a place to share their work and voice. The other side of 1134 Comix is 1134 Press, where our books are materialized, bound (sometimes by hand) and printed for your enjoyment. Our first publication, Gestalt, is a collection of fiction and sequential art that questions the boundaries of reality and consciousness (among other things).
Now, a little about our projects in the works and what we plan for 1134 Comix / Press: We are creating a full length post-apocalyptic / cosmic graphic novel titled, Omegas, as well as collecting the entire Blakbone web-comic into a bound edition. We are also moving closer toward curating an anthology of comics and fiction submitted by other creators. But we need your help to raise some funds. $2,500 would be enough of a boost to jumpstart this project. We could get more books into more hands, afford all the incidentals that come along with this type of endeavor, and be much better positioned to achieve these goals. If our campaign can reach the goal by early July, we will be able to have much of this work finished by the end of summer, This will allow us to publish the Blakbone collection in the fall, have Omegas near complete by spring, and ready to publish the anthology by next summer.
We’re not just asking for your monetary investments, we want you to read our books! You’ll see that our rewards are meant to get our books into your hands. So, check out our rewards—and we thank you for helping to make this possible!
