Funding Eco Care Kits for Filipino Student Clean-Ups

Hello, my name is Althea Toribio, and I am the founder of Eco Pilipino. I started this project to spark real environmental awareness in the Philippines by giving local students a platform to document the actual, raw climate hardships they face in their hometowns every single day. This is an entirely student-led initiative, powered by a tight-knit team bound together by our shared Filipino heritage and a deep, genuine love for our homeland. Behind this mission is an incredible core team Alena C. Lanticse, Skylar Recacho, Amber Mayo, Catherinaphil Nestor, Lucienne Jamero, and Jena Tortona, who truly care so deeply about this project and dedicate their time and hearts to making it happen. Everyone on board this project feels this exact same way and shares this deep commitment. We do this because the youth in the Philippines are living on the front lines of the climate crisis, witnessing the pollution of their rivers, the erosion of their coastlines, and the accumulation of plastic waste in their own neighborhoods. To capture these realities, we have created a streamlined system where students submit photos, videos, and personal testimonies of their local environmental struggles through a dedicated Google Form. Our team then takes these raw stories and amplifies them across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to open the world's eyes to what is happening on the ground, and we are currently building a standalone website to serve as a permanent digital archive for their advocacy. Your support will directly fund our Eco Care Kits, which we plan to distribute directly to different middle school and high school classrooms in the Philippines only. By bringing these resources straight into these classrooms, we want to encourage entire groups of Filipino students to step up together and take the lead in restoring their own local provinces. Each kit will be packed with durable reusable water bottles to cut down on single-use plastic, non-invasive native seed packs to help regrow local plant life, and heavy-duty utility gloves and trash bags so they can safely lead community efforts. Because we want to fully support these student advocates, we are also including sustainable school supplies like recycled notebooks and bamboo pens to aid their education, alongside healthy snacks to keep their energy up during long days. We are incredibly grateful for any amount you can give to help us make this happen!
