Bring New Mens Mental Health Musical To The Edinburgh Fringe

Hi, I’m Chris.
Over the past few years I’ve spent a lot of time at the Edinburgh Fringe, originally through my work in radio, interviewing performers and talking about their shows. Last summer, after doing that day after day, something shifted. Instead of just talking about other people’s work, I felt compelled to finally make something of my own.
That’s how One Missed Call came about.
It’s a one-man musical about men’s mental health. The whole show takes place over the course of one night and unfolds through phone calls, voicemails, and songs. Some calls are answered. Some are avoided. One is never finished. It’s not a lecture and it’s not a “message show”. It’s honest, sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes funny, and it trusts the audience to do a bit of the work themselves.
I’m incredibly proud to say that the show has now been offered a week-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026 with The Space UK at Surgeons’ Hall, Theatre 2. That felt like a huge step, and a real vote of confidence in the piece.
However, putting on a Fringe show comes with unavoidable costs. I’m funding this independently, without a production company or external backing, and I’m asking for help to cover things like:
• Venue and Fringe-related fees
• Technical and sound costs
• Rehearsal space
• Basic marketing and print materials
To say thank you, anyone who donates will be offered discounted tickets to the show during its Fringe run. I want the people who help make this possible to be able to sit in the room and see what they helped bring to life.
This isn’t about making money. It’s about giving a new piece of work the chance to exist properly and reach an audience who might recognise themselves in it.
If you can donate, that means a great deal.
If you can share this, that helps more than you might think.
And if you’re just reading this, thank you for taking the time.
