Good news! I got accepted to Stanford University's High School Summer College ! Not so good news... this prestigious education is really expensive.
This summer I plan on using my time focusing on my skills and abilities on a valuable education. It is already a priviledge to be accepted and to have a chance to achieve it. However, this dream can only be accomplished if I can get a little bit of help from everyone. A donation as small as $1, can help me buy a pen to A+ a test! With a donation of $10, you provide me a meal. If you donate $150 you just gave me a chance to study with a textbook. If you donate just $50 more than that, you provide me a place to crash after a hardworking day! For this reason, I say that it does not matter how much you give, it would help me immensly!
Any type of help is appreciated, even if you cannot donate financially, you can donate some of your time, effort, or even food, and specially your prayer. With any other help, I am able to do garage/ bake sales, car washes, and many other fundraising events. In return, if I can help donors in any way, I will be glad to! Either way, I will give back to the community what I will have leaned and done over the summer. For every $500 raised I will donate one extra hour to community service.
During the time I spend in Stanford, I plan to be not only a good student that gets good grades, because I crammed for a final over the night to get some college credit. My goal is to make this experience worthwhile and memorable. I will take every new information I learn, and glue it on me so I can make use of it. I want to take it a step further by giving the best of me in anyhting I do. I plan to grow my knowledge and experience with projects, tests, clubs, and many more opportunities in this treasured opportunity at Stanford.
Obviously, it is extremely important to me that I can realize this dream because I will learn much more than what goes on in a regular college classroom. The competitive spirit of such a prestigioues college will challenge me to the fullest to develop profoundly my leadership, studying skills and test my limits in every way.
If education were to be compared to a walk to success, this summer opportunity is a raced marathon to prosperous triumpth! Besides having all the benefits of growing as a person and as a student, there is no doubt that this experience will open up other great opportunities during and after high school. This summer education will help me perform even better student at my own school, and also help other students do the same. It would catch the attention of other great colleges to even request my attendance. When I apply for jobs, my resume will be a highlighted paper in comparison to other applicants.
I want to take this experience even further after I come back. In addition to donating one hour of volunteer work for every $500 raised, I will share this unique experience and new knowledge with my school, community and take it beyond high school.

Throughout all these three years of high school that I have accomplished, it is evident that I do not waste time or effort, but I work hard to impact the world some day somehow. The same way, I know that you worked hard for your money, this is why I assure you that it is not going to anywhere else, but a to good cause. Who knows? Before you know it, I will be that one girl on the news being interviewed about how I became so successful. Then my answer will be obvious, I would be nothing more than a hardworking girl if you had not helped me. In the future when I become this person you are picturing right now, I will know that you helped me, and I will do the same for you.
