Donation protected
This year has been challenging for many, but unfortunately for our dear friend and loved one, Lauren Cavaretta, it has also brought the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Lauren is only 27 years old. She will be starting chemotherapy in the upcoming weeks, followed by surgery and radiation. Unfortunately, due to the type of cancer that it is, the chemotherapy regimen is especially intense and will likely damage her ovaries. Therefore, in preparation for chemotherapy, she will be undergoing fertilization treatments so that she can freeze her eggs and maintain her ability to have children of her own.
Anyone that has met Lauren knows that she is the most genuine, kind, and fun-loving person you’d ever hope to meet. She was looking forward to marrying her fiancé, Ryan Mordaunt, this summer after their original date had to be rescheduled due to the pandemic. The nursing degree that she is pursuing will now have to be interrupted as she is forced to take a medical leave of absence from school. Both Lauren and her fiancé are putting their lives on hold over the next year while she undergoes rigorous treatment to fight this disease.
As you can imagine, the medical bills and cost of living expenses that accompany a diagnosis such as this are vast. We are asking that you might find it in your hearts to donate to our friends during this very difficult time. Any donations raised above our goal will be donated to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in the hopes of helping someone like Lauren in the future.
Lauren is truly an amazing woman and as her friend, we cannot express how greatly any donation will be appreciated. Let’s come together and help support Lauren and Ryan while they beat this terrible disease. Thank you for taking the time to read this. #LaurenStrong
