Trip Information
This past month, while my peers and I hosted the Texas United Nations International Youth Day (see pictures), we learned from Kushal Ramyad, a high-level director at the UN, that there has never been a Texas group to attend the UN General Assembly. We decided to change that. In light of this, we are spearheading efforts to take 18 teens to the 2025 UN General Assembly in NYC, September 23rd-26th—the first-ever Texan youth delegation!

During this time, we will be holding exclusive meetings, engaging with global leaders, and becoming accredited official UN Delegates.

Global political issues today are the ones we will inherit, and they inform how we view the world. In line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we will be providing youth perspectives on themes such as sustainable energy, accessible technology, and cultural understanding. In addition, this group directly aligns with the U.S. Mission’s initiative to bring youth voices and engagement into the United Nations.

Why me?
1) I'm diligent and well-spoken. I have fine-tuned my public speaking skills through speech and debate, placing 2nd in Team Policy at ASDA's national championships and placed 2nd place in speaker points at the Coolidge Foundation's National Cup. Outside of the sphere of debate, I have given speeches in front of 1300 people, introduced high level speakers at events, and advocated for improvements in the Child Welfare insurance program in front of a panel of legislators.

2) I have demonstrated interest and initiative in foreign relations
  • I am multi-lingual, speaking Russian, French, and Spanish. Including English, this means I speak 4 of the 6 official languages of the United Nations
  • I have studied abroad, earning a state department grant to study Russian language and Kazakh culture & history in Almaty, Kazakhstan
  • I founded a cultural exchange and language learning book club through the U.S. embassy in Kazakhstan to foster meaningful dialogue and understanding between our two countries

Funding youth representatives is investing in meaningful development on a local, national, and even global level.
