We are the Young Readers Society, a youth-led non-profit organisation that is fighting against youth illiteracy.
We hold weekly reading sessions with crafts and activities to make reading enjoyable in an increasingly digital world. We have partnered with hospitals, schools, and local libraries internationally to provide reading kits (including a book, craft, and writing journal) to underserved communities.
By receiving donations, we plan to use the money to pay for shipping costs to send books and reading kits to the communities that need them most.
Right now, we’re focusing on two major efforts:
- Donating 730 reading kits to 40 low-income classrooms across North Carolina.
- Sending 200+ books and kits to the Thanyaporn Girls Home, an orphanage for young girls in Bangkok, Thailand.
